We sell and buy original posters mostly published in the 19th and 20th century. Our posters are for the most part vanishingly rare. Many are signed by the designer and/or numbered as part of limited editions.
Our core collection reflects the interests and career path of the owner, Joe Tibbetts, who started collecting posters in the 1970s when he worked in the theatre as a director and playwright. For more than twenty years he has been a marketing strategist for a whole raft of high profile UK design companies. From the mid-90s onwards he developed and delivered marketing communications programmes for design companies seeking to expand into foreign markets. He has also advised UK government departments including the ODPM, the Design Council and the F&CO and he developed and delivered a number of inward and outward bound missions, for the British Council, promoting UK creative industries. Our collection is cared for by a local conservator who trained at Camberwell School of Art and subsequently worked at the Tate Gallery and at the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam before setting up in private practice.
Alan Fletcher’s D&AD 21st Anniversary awards dinner poster above, signed by Fletcher, in fine+ condition and backed onto Japanese mulberry conservation paper is a good example. We also sell books, catalogues & ephemera of interest to poster collectors and enthusiasts.
